Rates & Insurance

Therapy Rates Counseling is affordable at Sereneco Wellness Center. We believe counseling should be available and affordable for everyone.  Our services are structured  so that we are able to offer quality counseling at varying rates.  Therefore, if you are in need of counseling you can find a counselor and a rate that will fit your budget. We accept most major insurances.  For those without insurance, we offer services on three levels:  the licensed level, the associate level and the graduate student level. Below are explanations and rates for each level .
 
Therapy Costs $30 -- $150
  • Licensed Level:  $100 -- $150 LPC or an LPC-S; both are licensed by the state of Texas to practice as a Licensed Professional Counselor (S denotes supervisory status).  Requirements to be a LPC Supervisor are at least five years of experience as a LPC plus a 40 hour state approved supervisor training course.
  • Associate Level:  $65 -- $95 LPC Associate has al license by the state of Texas to practice as a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate under the direct supervisor of a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor.  The interns have earned a masters degree from an accredited university and are now working towards full licensure by completing 3000 hours of supervised practice.
  • Graduate Level Counseling Student:  $30 -- $60 Currently enrolled in an accredited counseling program and are earning the required counseling hours needed for completion of their graduate degree.  They are supervised by both a university professor and a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor.
Cancellation Policy
The session time you set is reserved just for you. We do not double book or overlap appointment times. So, please notify us at least 24 hours in advance of any cancellation. If a cancellation or no show occurs without 24 hours notification, you will be charged$50 as that time was reserved for you.

  • Court Testimony
    • Appearance/Retainer Fee :
      • $750  Minimum 5 Hours @ $150 per hour
    • Additional Court Related Service & Fees :
      • $150.00 per hour, preparation, including submission of records
      • $150.00 per hour, consultations of all types
      • $150.00 per hour, all related travel time
      • $150.00 per hour, all court related time away from the office for testimony or deposition

  We are an out-of-network provider for other insurance companies.  Many plans offer out-of-network benefits so please check with your insurance provider to verify your benefits.
  Choosing to pay out-of-pocket or file with your insurance company is a personal choice.  We believe it is important to gather as much information as possible before making your decision.  Please read the information below before making your decision.  Regardless of your decision, we will  assist you any way possible.
 
Additional Factors That You Might Not Be Aware Of When Filing With Insurance Companies
  • Labeling: Insurance companies require a mental health diagnosis prior to reimbursing for services. Most of our clients are merely facing a stressful situation and need assistance navigating through a challenging situation. We are uncomfortable forcing a label on our clients that will follow them for the rest of their life. For example, you may file for life insurance or apply for a job and the application asks about a prior mental health diagnosis. If it is on file with your insurance company, you will have to disclose that information.
  • Lack of Confidentiality: What is discussed between you and your counselor is confidential. However, what you tell your counselor is not considered confidential if you file with an insurance company. The content of your session is shared with your insurance company and based on the information provided, they decide if you are allowed additional sessions or not. We believe that this decision should be left to you and your counselor—not an insurance company.
  • Higher Fees: Dealing with insurance companies has become so time consuming as they require more and more documentation. At times, it can actually exceed the amount of time spent with the client. When this time exceeds what is considered “reasonable and customary,” the charge gets passed along to the client, resulting in higher fees.
Payment Cash, check, all major credit cards and medical pay flex account cards are accepted methods of payment.
